ASSISTANCE NEEDED PLEASE: QF LAX- BNE

I am looking to upgrade my parents from economy to business class using QF points. As this is my first time , can anyone shed some light on how to do this, and any tips

Log in to your QFF account, go to your bookings and scroll down.

There is a panel to upgrade and eligible family member.

Enter their details and go from there.

The person with the highest status should request the upgrade. Transfer points if necessary.

Remember international upgrades are a lottery and are not confirmed until closer to the date.

First, are the folks on an upgradeable fare?

Second, status rules - OK? - And it's still a lottery.

No, it's Y to J, "I am looking to upgrade my parents from economy to business class using QF points"

Negative, Y to J is a common upgrade if you have the points and there are spare seats.

Not all Y is upgradable......

You may request an international Flight Upgrade Award from:

  • Discount Economy[SUP]#[/SUP] (excluding E, N, O, Q and X class[SUP]~[/SUP]) to Premium Economy (where available[SUP]+[/SUP])
  • Economy[SUP]#[/SUP] to Premium Economy (where available[SUP]+[/SUP])
  • Discount Economy[SUP]#[/SUP] (excluding E, N, O, Q and X class[SUP]~[/SUP]) to Business
  • Economy[SUP]#[/SUP] to Business
  • Premium Economy (where available[SUP]+[/SUP]) to Business
  • Business to First

Ah, you beat me to an edit.

I thought on a 3/4 config you could only go up 'one step' with an upgrade.

Y to J is a possible step should there be the cabin for it (and the appropriate fare class met etc)
