Good afternoon all,

I hope everyone has had a great long weekend so far. 2 questions please, if I may.

1. Does mileage monkey website still work? I've tried accessing the link below but no luck.
http://slfft.zendfree.com/0.95/award.htm

2. Just had a discussion with my partner and we realised that I'm in good shape for 2,100 SCs by my anniversary date :p (though might need a little JASA trip some time early next year). This will give him the Partner Gold status. My understanding is that QF will ask me to nominate my partner for this bonus. Further, according to QF, "partner means the spouse or domestic partner, who lives at the same address as the primary member."

Has anyone been able to give their partner this status without having to live @ the same address? The obvious trick is to change his to mine or vice versa, but I am just wondering...

Thanks,
Voyages

Had PM's with the author SLF this morning. The free hosting server is down/gone. He is looking for another free hosting server.

In any case its very out of date for xONEx. Rules and routes have not been updated for along time.

On the second question the T&C are pretty clear on what is required to qualify for partner gold. :-|
Provided your situation matches those rules then there should be no problem. :-|

Thank you Mwenenzi for the information. In spite of the outdated information, its SC counter is pretty handy :)

So I'd better move my address back to my partner's. I am in the middle of a long interstate posting atm.

Well a posting doesn't have to mean that your official residence changes. At least from a tax point of view.

Re: mileage monkey

Mwenenzi,

This link is no longer working (already)

As we predominantly use it, as well as perhaps FT members, couldn’t admin host the tool here? Maybe restrict it to paid up members if it uses a lot of bandwidth. Also, does anyone know how much work would have to go into it to bring it up to being accurate for todays flights?

I also made a mirror, just in case there are future issues and on an easy to remember URL:

http://www.mileagemonkey.net/

I'm happy to hand over the domain and access to a hosting account to the author/maintainer of the tool. We'll see what the traffic levels are like :)

(I work in the hosting industry, so it's easy for me to do - the only out of pocket for me was the cost price for the domain name)

Depending on traffic, i'd be happy to host it for free here in Melbourne (Server on high speed connection I have in a data centre).

It would be fairly small amounts i'd imagine.

If anyone knows the admin of the site and they're interested, drop me an IM and i'll pass you my contact details. (The server resides in a co-location facility on multiple hundred megabit connections).

My server in Canberra isn't good enough for you? :D

Anyway, I don't think the traffic will be an issue. If there end up being lots of overseas hits, I can also offload the site backend files to my EdgeCast CDN account to improve performance.

I have sent SLF a message regarding these offers ...

heh of course it is :)

I didn't read your entire post properly and just thought you'd done a DNS job to re-direct. I should read "mirror" and what your day job was before I reply to posts ;)

Still happy to help of course.
