Access to Complimentary Insurances

You may be eligible for the following insurances with the Citi Rewards Credit Card:

Earning points

With the Citi Rewards Credit Card, you’ll earn Citi reward Points at a rate of 1 point per $1 spent on eligible domestic transactions. The full points-earning rate is capped at $10,000 per statement period.

You’ll also earn 1 Citi reward Point per $1 spent on overseas transactions. There is no cap on international spend, but note that these transactions incur a foreign transaction fee of 3.4% of the converted amount.

Citi reward Points do not expire, provided your card account remains open and in good standing (for example – your account is not in default, suspended or closed).

Earning points for ATO & government payments

The Citi PayAll feature allows you to earn Citi reward Points on larger everyday expenses such as rent, taxes, education fees, property management fees, childcare and miscellaneous bills. Earn 1 point per $1 for Citi cards enrolled in the Citi Rewards Program or 0.5 Points per $1 for Citi cards enrolled Qantas Rewards Program. The Citi PayAll fee is currently 0.95% as outlined in the Financial Table and is set at the point of scheduling your Citi PayAll payment.

Alternatively, you could use a payment service like Pay.com.au when making Australian Taxation Office (ATO) or other government payments, and earn points from your card.

Using points

Transfer to partners

Like many credit card rewards programs, the benefit of Citi Rewards is the ability to convert your points to various partners. You can convert your Citi reward Points to KrisFlyer miles, Velocity Points or Flybuys points. So, the choice is yours.

The transfer rates from Citi reward Points are below:

  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer – 3 Citi reward Points = 1 KrisFlyer mile (3:1)
  • Velocity Frequent Flyer – 2.5 Citi reward Points = 1 Velocity point (2.5:1)
  • Flybuys – 1.33 Citi reward Points = 1 Flybuys point (1.33:1)

As an example, here’s how you could redeem these points…

  • KrisFlyer miles – redemptions with Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance carriers including Air Canada, Lufthansa, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and more.
  • Velocity points – redemptions with Virgin Australia and partner airlines including Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, ANA, Air Canada, Singapore Airlines and more.
  • Flybuys points – in-store redemptions when shopping at Coles supermarkets, Kmart, Officeworks, Liquorland, Target and more.

To transfer Citi reward Points to these programs, a minimum transfer applies, as follows:

  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer – minimum 25,000 points in 1-point increments
  • Velocity Frequent Flyer – minimum 2,000 points in 1-point increments
  • Flybuys – minimum 2,000 points in 1-point increments

Pay with Points

One of the benefit of Citi Credit Cards is the ‘Pay with Points’ feature. Pay with Points allows cardholders to use their Citi reward Points to offset eligible purchases made on their card.

There are three ways to do this:

  • Pay with Points (full amount)
  • Pay with Points (partial amount via the Citi Mobile® App only)
  • Spend and Redeem (real-time SMS offer)

Regardless of which option you select, your Citi reward Points can be redeemed at a rate of $10 back per 2,500 Citi reward Points (0.4 cents per point).
