Travel benefits

Enjoy an elevated travel experience with the Westpac Altitude Qantas Black. Here’s what to expect…

Lounge passes

The Westpac Altitude Qantas Black credit card includes two Qantas Club lounge invitations per year.

The single-entry Qantas Club lounge invitations are redeemable at any domestic Qantas Club lounge in Australia, or select Qantas-operated International Business Lounges. If you travel with Qantas or Jetstar and don’t have lounge access through status, a Business Class ticket or a Qantas Club membership, then the Qantas Club invitations may be beneficial to you. These lounge invitations are transferable to other Qantas Frequent Flyer members, so you can bring a friend or family member into the lounge before your flight (or treat yourself twice!)

Complimentary travel insurance

Westpac Altitude Qantas Black cardholders receive a range of insurances, including international travel insurance underwritten by Allianz. To be eligible for the complimentary international travel insurance, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Reside in Australia,
  • Begin and end your journey in Australia,
  • Spend at least $500 on prepaid travel costs on your Westpac Altitude Qantas Black credit card before leaving Australia,
  • Have a return overseas travel ticket before leaving Australia, and
  • Be under 81 years of age at the time you’re eligible for insurance and meet the conditions above.

Ensure you read the PDS here before using the complimentary travel insurance on your Westpac Altitude Qantas Black card.

Personal concierge service

Westpac Altitude Qantas Black cardholders can access an exclusive Personal Concierge Service. This 24/7 service allows you to book experiences online, including tickets to concerts and events, restaurant reservations and more.

Earning points

With the Westpac Altitude Qantas Black credit card, you’ll earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points at a rate of 0.75 points per $1 spent on eligible transactions, excluding government payments. The full points-earning rate is capped at $250,000 annually, and bonus Qantas Points are not included in the cap.

Additionally, for every $1 spent on selected Qantas products and services in Australia, you’ll earn one bonus Qantas Point. This means you can earn bonus points when booking Qantas flights directly through Qantas or purchasing or renewing a Qantas Club membership.

If there is no activity on your Qantas account at least once every 18 months, then your Qantas Points will expire. For those who don’t fly often, having a credit card that earns Qantas Points may be a good way to keep your account active and prevent points from expiring.

Earning points for ATO & government payments

You won’t earn any Qantas Points on direct payments to the Australian Tax Office (ATO), or other Australian government bodies.

But you can use your Westpac Altitude Qantas Black credit card with a payment service such as Pay.com.au. This allows you to pay taxes and other bills to collect Qantas Points from your card.

Using Qantas Points

Qantas Points are best redeemed for flights – especially in premium cabins – and flight upgrades. But that’s not all they can be used for. You could also use Qantas Points to pay for hotels, car rentals, or even book a cruise!

You’re not limited to just Qantas flights, either. Qantas Points can be redeemed for flights with airlines that are part of the Oneworld alliance. Fly across an extensive network with Japan Airlines, Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, American Airlines and more. It’s also possible to fly around the world with Qantas Points!

There are also a number of Qantas partner airlines that aren’t part of the Oneworld alliance. You could also redeem your Qantas Points to fly with China Airlines, IndiGo, Emirates, LATAM, Fiji Airways, KLM and more.

Prefer to redeem your Qantas Points on the ground? Take your pick from movie tickets, gift cards, items from the Qantas Store, or even a case of wine from Qantas Wine!
