Lounges: Money Wasted? |
Many
frequent flyers go out of their way to
access airport lounges. Some purchase lounge
memberships; others always book the same
airline so they can use the lounge. But is
airport lounge access really worth paying
for? At least one member believes not.
This member opines that the food and
beverage at terminal retail outlets is
generally superior to what is offered in the
lounge. They also find that lounges are not
always the quiet oasis they're made out to
be - but overcrowded and noisy.

Virgin Australia expands its
presence in Hong Kong and
China (starting with the
launch of Melbourne-Hong
Kong flights this month),
the airline is left with a
small problem. Virgin will
soon be using its small
fleet of six wide-body
Airbus A330 aircraft to fly
to Asia. This means these
aircraft will no longer be
available to fly between the
Australian east coast and

Rescinds Points on Air NZ |
| Virgin
Australia frequent flyers
will no longer earn Velocity
points or status credits
when flying Air New Zealand
across the Pacific from 1
November, 2017. From this
date, points will only be
earned when flying Air New
Zealand across the Tasman or
within New Zealand. Velocity
Silver, Gold and Platinum
members will also lose
access to benefits such as
lounge access when flying
Air New Zealand outside of
Australia and New Zealand.
