Introducing the Travel Pointers Podcast!

We’re pleased to announce the launch of a brand new podcast, Travel Pointers!

We know many AFF members have been missing the AFF on Air podcast, which ran for four years and had over 100 episodes. We’re now joining forces with the team of experts from Point Hacks to bring you a new travel podcast that takes the best parts of AFF on Air and the previous Point Hacks podcast, Points of View.

On each episode of the Travel Pointers podcast, Australia’s leading travel and frequent flyer program experts will discuss the latest news, share their travel tips and stories, and help you to make the most of your frequent flyer points. On some episodes, we’ll also interview guests from the travel industry.

The first episode is hosted by myself, AFF Editor Matt Graham, and the Point Hacks News Editor Chris Chamberlin. Between us, we’ve flown around 2.5 million miles on a vast array of different airlines.

In the inaugural episode, we discuss the latest news, talk about the Qantas Oneworld Classic Flight Reward and share our experience of travelling to Central Asia at the start of this year. It’s a totally underrated tourist destination that should be on more travellers’ radars! You can find the first episode on your favourite podcasting platform or by clicking here.

We’ll release a new episode of Travel Pointers at the start of each month. We hope you enjoy Australia’s new podcast for frequent flyers!

We’d love to hear your feedback. Let us know what you think in the new Travel Pointers Podcast Discussion thread on the AFF forum.

If you like this podcast, we’d also greatly appreciate you leaving a rating and a review on your preferred podcast platform, and telling your friends, so more people will be able to find us. 😉

Great news! Fantastic to have you back "on air," Matt. The Points of View podcast was enjoyable as well, so having these two combined into one will be good, I am looking forward to listening!

Really enjoyed the new podcast! Had to laugh at the references to AFF and Points Hacks being “complimentary”… with no mention of shared ownership 😂😂😂

A very noticeable omission. Full disclosure that AFF is (now) owned by Points Hack needed.

Enjoyed the co-host format, great to have the depth of discussion you don't always get with solo hosts. Looking forward to future episodes!

Glad you enjoyed it!

That AFF is now owned by Point Hacks isn't a secret, and we didn't deliberately avoid talking about this on the first podcast episode. I just assumed it's fairly common knowledge by now - we had an entire episode of AFF on Air about it (episode #100, no less), and there were plenty of announcements around the time of the sale almost two years ago. It also states this in the second sentence of AFF's "about us" page.
