Double Status Credits on Qantas Flights to Ballina

Double Status Credits on Qantas Flights to Ballina

To celebrate the launch of flights to Ballina, Qantas is now offering double status credits on its new route from Sydney to Ballina (BNK), which is a short drive from Byron Bay.

Until 11.59pm on 24 June 2020, you can earn double Qantas Frequent Flyer status credits for booking any Qantas flight on the Sydney-Ballina route. To earn double status credits, you’ll need to travel between 1 July and 31 August 2020.

Qantas’ new daily flights from Sydney to Ballina will commence on 1 July and are operated by QantasLink Dash 8 Q400 aircraft with Economy class seating. The current schedule is as follows:

  • QF2062 Sydney 10:55 – Ballina 12:35
  • QF2063 Ballina 13:15 – Sydney 15:00

Flights on the new Qantas service are currently on sale from $159 one-way for a Red-eDeal fare, which will earn 20 instead of the usual 10 status credits. Economy Flex fares on the route are available from $298 one-way and will pick up 40 instead of the usual 20 status credits.

Although some Australian state borders remain closed for now, NSW stopped restricting travel within the state on 1 June.

Double status credit terms & conditions

This offer is open to all Qantas Frequent Flyer members that live in Australia. But to earn double status credits on Sydney-Ballina flights, you’ll first need to register on the Qantas website. After registering, you’ll receive an email confirmation.

Double status credits are only available on Qantas-operated flights between Sydney and Ballina (Byron Bay) with a “QF” flight number. Although Qantas also sells flights operated by Jetstar on the Sydney-Ballina route, Jetstar flights will not earn double status credits.

According to the Qantas website, “Flight Credits redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will earn double Status Credits.”

Status credits earned from this promotion do not count towards any Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward or Qantas status challenge.
