Earn up to 30,000 Bonus Points per Qantas Hotels Booking

You can already earn at least three points per dollar whenever you book accommodation with Qantas Hotels. Plus, you can get extra Qantas points if you’re a Points Club member or have a linked Qantas Business Rewards account.

During a new limited-time promotion, you can earn even more bonus points when you spend at least $500 on a single Qantas Hotels booking!

When booking between 8-14 May, for stays before 30 June 2024, you’ll earn the following extra amounts of bonus points:

  • Earn 5,000 bonus Qantas points when you spend at least $500
  • Earn 10,000 bonus Qantas points when you spend at least $1,000
  • Earn 20,000 bonus Qantas points when you spend at least $2,000
  • Earn 30,000 bonus Qantas points when you spend at least $3,000

You’ll earn bonus points for each eligible individual booking. This includes when making multiple bookings at the same property for the same check-in and check-out dates.

The bonus points are not based on your cumulative spend across different hotels and bookings. But you can earn points for every individual booking that meets the spend and booking date criteria.

For example, if you made one $500 booking and three bookings worth $2,000 during the promotional period, you would earn 65,000 bonus points.

The bonus points are based on the amount of money that you spend towards each booking. If you used Points Plus Pay or a voucher to cover part of the accommodation cost, the bonus points would be based only on the portion paid using money.

According to the offer terms & conditions, you’ll receive the points within eight weeks of checking out from your hotel. Airbnb, Qantas Holidays and Qantas Tours bookings are excluded from this promotion.

This is the second time Qantas has run a similar promotion this year. It offered between 5,000 and 20,000 bonus points per booking between 21-27 March 2024.

Qantas Hotels booking for Wander On Kangaroo Island

If you need to book some accommodation for travel before the end of June, you could really take advantage of this offer to rake in the Qantas points!

For example, Wander On Kangaroo Island is already offering double points when you book through Qantas Hotels (6 instead of 3 base points per dollar).

It would cost $3,014 to book a WanderPod for five nights between 20-25 June 2024. In return, as well as luxury accommodation on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island, you could earn at least 48,084 Qantas points from the 6 points per dollar and the 30,000 bonus points for spending over $3,000.

That’s not even the full extent of the points you could earn! For example, if you were a Points Club Plus and Qantas Business Rewards member, and paid using a credit card that earns 1 Qantas point per dollar, you could earn:

Points earn categoryQantas points earned
Base points (3 per $1)9,042
Double points given by the hotel9,042
Points Club Plus 50% bonus9,042
Bonus points offer30,000
Qantas Business Rewards earn3,014
Credit card earn3,014
TOTAL63,154

That’s more than enough points to book a one-way Qantas Business Class reward flight to Indonesia!

Beware that when booking with Qantas Hotels (or any other online travel agency), you won’t earn points or receive any status benefits with the hotel’s own loyalty program.

Other ways to earn lots of bonus Qantas points

If you’d like to earn even more Qantas points, there are two other popular ways to earn lots of points quickly.

One way is to apply for a Qantas points-earning credit card with a great sign-up bonus. You can also often find some excellent bonus points offers with Qantas Wine.

Hmm, that’s not clear if a $50 voucher is part of the cash component? I would have thought it was but $550 spend would be safe!

I would assume it's not (whether it's intended to be or not), purely based on the reliability of QF's tech around this and the fact that they don't give base points spend on voucher components (just the cash spend only). Wouldn't surprise me if this offer is treated in the same way.

Points allocated once per transaction. Guess that means multiple transactions/bookings attract the points! Haven't seen anything contrary in the T&C's

Yeah I was just reading this and wondering if I made three bookings and each totaled over $2000, would I get 60,000 points (3 x 20,000)!?! Seems to good to be true, but I don't see anything that specifically points against it in the T&C.

I can't work out if you would get 5,000 bonus points if making 2x bookings worth $250+ or if the $500 booking needs to be in one transaction? Based on the wording in the T&Cs I guess it needs to be in one transaction - if that's the case they presumably you could also get 60,000 points in the scenario described above by @kaelo.

Trying to book two rooms in one booking on Qantas Hotels, doesn't give me the option? If I book two rooms separately but both under my name, will I get the points for both bookings?

Does anyone know why this property isn't attracting bonus points when I check out? I know it's a bed and breakfast but it's not an Airbnb, doesn't seem against any T&Cs?
