Qantas will reopen its First Class check-in suite at Melbourne Airport’s international terminal next week.
After an extended closure due to COVID-19, the curbside premium check-in area in Terminal 2 will open again from next Wednesday, 26 April 2023. Qantas has confirmed it will be open daily from 5.30am until check-in closes for the last Qantas international departure each night. (Currently, that’s QF155 to Auckland at 11.25pm).
Unlike in Sydney, Qantas does not offer all-day check-in at Melbourne’s international terminal. You can check in for international Qantas flights departing Melbourne up to 3 hours before departure.
The First Class check-in suite at Melbourne Airport can be accessed kerbside from the drop-off area outside the terminal. It’s a small, private check-in area beside the walkway between Terminals 2 & 1.
This service is available to Qantas First Class passengers. It’s also offered to Qantas Platinum, Platinum One and Oneworld Emerald frequent flyers departing on a Qantas-operated international flight.
When checking in at the First Class suite, a Qantas staff member will take care of your luggage. If you’ll be heading to the Qantas First Lounge prior to departure, you can even enquire while checking in about the availability of spa appointments in the lounge.
Eligible passengers flying out of Melbourne before the First Class check-in suite reopens can continue to access the priority check-in queue at the regular Qantas check-in area.
Qantas also offers a dedicated First Class check-in area at Sydney Airport, which already reopened over a year ago.
