Qantas Launches October 2024 Double Status Credits Offer

Qantas is offering Double Status Credits on bookings made from 25-31 October 2024.

Qantas has launched a surprising new Double Status Credits offer, which is running from 25-31 October 2024. This is the second “DSC” offer (as it’s commonly referred to on our forum) that Qantas Frequent Flyer has launched this year.

The offer comes hot on the heels of Virgin Australia’s announcement of major changes to the Velocity Frequent Flyer program, which will make it harder to earn Velocity status from next year.

About this offer

By registering for this promotion, you can earn twice as many status credits on Qantas marketed and operated flights booked by 31 October 2024, for travel between 1 November 2024 and 19 October 2025.

Qantas is also giving the option to earn double points, instead of double status credits. But we’d suggest choose double status credits, which can help you to maintain or upgrade to a higher Qantas status tier, unless you really don’t need them.

Before booking your flights, you must register for this offer in the Qantas App or on the Qantas website. At the time of registration, you’ll need to select between double status credits or double points.

Note that codeshare flights are not eligible for this offer. However, Qantas flights operated by QantasLink or Alliance Airlines, as well as Qantas flights from Sydney to Singapore or Bangkok which are operated by Finnair, are eligible.

Bonus status credits earned through this offer will not count towards any Loyalty Bonuses or Tier Accelerator status challenges. You can see the full terms & conditions on the Qantas website.

Double dip with Qantas Business Rewards

Separately, Qantas Business Rewards is also offering double points this week. Your business can earn double points when you also register for the Qantas Business Rewards offer and one of your employees books a flight by 31 October, for travel between 1 November 2024 and 19 October 2025. The employee must quote your business’ ABN at the time of booking.

The double points with Qantas Business Rewards is in addition to the double status credits or points that the flyer can earn.

How to make the most of this Qantas double status credits offer

Thinking about booking a Qantas status run to make the most of this double status credits offer?

We’ve put together a selection of status runs that can earn you a decent chunk of Qantas status credits. The best run that we found is from Gold Coast to Auckland in Business Class, via Melbourne in both directions. With this run, you could earn 560 status credits – almost enough to renew Qantas Gold status – for $1,691.

oh I wasn't expecting this - I wonder if this was scheduled in advance or if it has anything to do with the announced VFF changes. Anyway, happy to think about some bookings...
