Update (1 July 2019): The Qantas Rewards Room will now remain open until the end of 2019, and the maximum number of times you can scan your Qantas Frequent Flyer card to earn 100 points is 3 per month.
If you’re passing through Melbourne Airport over the next 4 months, there is an easy 100 Qantas Frequent Flyer points up for grabs.
You can earn 100 Qantas points by popping into the new Qantas Rewards Room in Terminal 1 of Melbourne Airport. Once there, simply show your Qantas Frequent Flyer card to the staff to earn your free Qantas points. You can earn the points up to once per person, per day.
The Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Room opened a few weeks ago, and will remain at Melbourne Airport until 30 June 2019. It’s located in the Qantas domestic terminal, near Gate 1, and is open daily from 7am until 8pm.
The Qantas pop-up store stocks a range of Qantas merchandise, such as Qantas-branded baby onesies and Qantas uniforms for kids. There is also a range of products from Qantas’ online store for sale, including headphones and toasters. If paying by credit or debit card, you can earn 6 Qantas points per dollar spent in-store. There is also an option to pay for purchases using Qantas points… but as we explained earlier this week, this is a poor use of Qantas points!
If purchasing bulky items, there is an option to have purchases delivered to you at a later date.
The Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Room is an interesting way for Qantas to promote member engagement with its frequent flyer program. At this stage, the Melbourne store is only a trial. But it will be interesting to see if new stores are opened at other airports in the future.
Either way, this is an easy way to earn 100 Qantas points if you happen to by flying to or from Melbourne on a domestic Qantas flight!
