Virgin Australia is again offering triple Velocity points when you book a Virgin Australia domestic flight by 25 April 2021.
With this offer, you’ll earn at least 15 Velocity points per $1 spent on Virgin Australia flights (up from the usual 5 points per dollar). That’s a good offer, but there’s a catch: it’s only valid for travel between 1 June 2021 and 8 March 2022.
To earn triple points, you’ll first need to activate the offer on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website. Then, book any eligible flight by 25 April 2021 for travel within the promotional period.
While this offer does require you to book travel more than a month in advance, you will be able to benefit from Virgin Australia’s Flexible Flying policy for travel until 31 January 2022. Under this policy, there are no fees to change your booking (any fare difference will apply) or you can opt to cancel your booking for a credit voucher.
According to the offer terms & conditions, domestic flights flown as part of an international itinerary (e.g. to New Zealand) do not qualify for triple points. Bonus points will be earned on the base points only (i.e. you won’t also earn bonus points on any status bonus points earned as a Silver, Gold or Platinum member) and the points may take up to 4 weeks to credit to your Velocity account after the completion of travel.
If you’re booking a Virgin Australia flight, don’t forget that you might also be able to save money by using a Virgin Australia discount code. You can also earn bonus points on the half-price interstate flights which are currently available on many domestic routes.
This offer comes a fortnight after Qantas released a double status credits offer, the first such offer from an Australian airline in 2021.
Virgin Australia’s last “triple Velocity points on domestic flights” offer was in November 2020.
