Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program has launched another double status credits offer! This promotion covers new Virgin Australia bookings made between today (25 July) and 3 August 2023, for travel dates until 31 December 2023.

To take advantage of this offer, you must first activate the offer on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website or in the app.

Virgin Australia domestic, trans-Tasman and international short-haul flights are eligible to earn double status credits when booked during the promotion period. International short-haul flights include Virgin Australia’s new Cairns to Tokyo service, which since last Saturday is now being operated by the airline’s factory-fresh Boeing 737-8.

To earn double status credits, the flights must be marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. Codeshare and partner airline flights are not eligible.

Status credits count towards your Velocity status tier. So, double status credits mean you could reach Virgin Australia Silver, Gold or Platinum status more quickly.

Velocity Frequent Flyer last launched a double status credits offer in January 2023. That particular promotion only covered travel dates until the end of March 2023.

Qantas Frequent Flyer’s most recent double status credits offer, meanwhile, launched in March 2023.

Does this also work for flights booked through business flyer so long as the personal account has activated the promo before booking?

Does this work under family pooling too? If I add my child to my account under family pooling, and we fly together, do I get their double status credits too?

Yes, you can always pool and this doesn't impact double status offers.

Yes, so long as both accounts have been registered then both will get DSC and the pooling will transfer their SC’s to you (and points if you’ve opted for both to transfer)
