One member has experienced some intense surveying from Woolworths about the utility of earning frequent flyer points via their Everyday Rewards program. This has led to speculation that Woolies may be looking for a more attractive incentive for shoppers than Qantas points.
This speculation has caused quite a stir for our members who enjoy the ability to earn points whilst doing the weekly shop. And the earn is not insignificant with one member earning Everyday Rewards 30,000 points each year. The accrual of points for spending money they need to spend on everyday items anyway, is a welcome reward.
Some members would welcome Woolies teaming up with another frequent flyer program as they have little use for Qantas frequent flyer points. They find Qantas points too difficult to redeem for seats unless they are extremely flexible and can book ahead one year in advance.
Some members love to take advantage of special promotions and bonus points offered at Woolworths but they do acknowledge that other benefits such as gift cards or petrol discounts may be worth more on a purely monetary basis.
