Tawny frogmouths are such lovely birds. Another of my brother's pets when he was young. Used to ride around on his shoulder.

Interesting birds ; Bub was on the ground so I put him on a low branch, next morning he was on the ground again so I replaced him on his branch only to find mum up higher nearby.
They were so photogenic , I walked back up to the house to get the camera .
When I returned Mum was down low with bub but pretending to be invisible , Bub thought I was OK so eyes open.
They are hard to see in the trees , some time went by and I saw one was sitting low on the same tree where I might see it..
I had a little anthropomorphic indulgence and believed that bub had returned to say thanks for the lift.
