The mileage brokers aren't buying these at retail rates is my guess. They'd be buying it from websites like Mileage spot - just look up "sell my points" and you can find heaps of websites that do this. And I can’t even think of a miles broker who would sell flights that cheaply! The going rate in a good program, buying the miles yourself would be about USD1300. So don’t know where the margins are.
But even buying them cheaper, via a third party site… can’t see where their profit margin is on this. Considering they are doing the booking as well! The mileage brokers aren't buying these at retail rates is my guess. Obviously this goes against airline T's and Cs, but people doing this are often selling below points + pay rates - they just get disillusioned with FF programs and want out, IMO.

That’s the problem. It might work well… until it doesn’t. And that could be you. Your ticket could be cancelled at any time… at checkin, or even during your transit point, and you’d lose your money. Plus have to continue your journey or get home.So is there a reliable business class points broker that people have used? Looking for Aust to NYK via Asia with stopovers. Thanks as I have never tried this method of booking flights but am willing to try as long as I do not lose my money.
