Can you redeem VA points for flights from US for friends

Can VA points be used to redeem tickets for non-family members for travel from US to AUS and return? Thanks

As far as I am aware, as long as there is reward seats available you can book for anyone

Be mindful of course if any airline decides the points have been BOUGHT or SOLD or traded or bartered etc, they will, and very often have, closed the accounts, cancelled all miles in them, and voided all tickets redeemed. And often pursued legal action for the retail value of tickets already used. Just a FYI info point.
