Earning SPG on events

When our events organiser told me I would be earning Starwood points on an event I got incredibly excited.

About a month later when the points have come through it's 3:1, $3 spend = 1 point.

Well they were free for me.

I got some great results from some events a few years ago when I had 20+ rooms booked, so on top of my own points, nights etc, I got some good 'bonus' points. Unless you run lots of events, it's not brilliant, but indeed... better than nothing!
