Earning Star Alliance status on Qantas

It seems that if you have AirNZ Airpoints membership, you can earn status and Airpoints on Qantas flights with an NZ codeshare flight number.

Just to clarify, does this mean that the ticket has to be the NZ ticket, or can it be a Qantas ticket on a codeshare flight?
