A hypothetical question for the AFF community...

If airlines were hotels, and hotels were airlines, which ones would they be?

easyJet in Europe has its own line of hotels called easyHotel, so that's an obvious one. But you can use a bit more imagination ;)

For example, I'd suggest that Air France and Sofitel would be a good match. Both brands are sophisticated and provide shamelessly French service - usually in a good way.

Jetstar could be Ibis Budget. I don't think I need to explain why ;)

Rex could be Best Western. Not five-star luxury but they'll get the job done with country hospitality.

Singapore Airlines and Shangri-La go well. Both offer great service and are a bit luxurious.

Perhaps Virgin Australia could be Hotel Indigo - they're both a bit quirky, fun and usually good quality.

What else?

A fun question!

I'd put VA together with Holiday Inn Express. Basic but has all the necessities in a pretty good order and it just functions.
Qantas and Fraser Hospitality: up-priced, wanna-be good but especially the benefits are inconsistent. What you get depends highly on the property and the crew of the day.

A bit difficult as an airplane itself is a bit like a hotel chain, with different cabins appealing to different market segments.

So with Singapore Airlines vs Marriott, F could be the Ritz Carlton, J the JW Marriott, PE Aloft, Y :Courtyard,

But I’ll have a go at the US carriers though:
Delta - Marriott
American - Hilton
United - Crowne Plaza
Southwest - Four Points or Hilton Garden Inn
JetBlue - Doubletree
Alaska - Pullman
Spirit -Motel 6.
