Heading to Hunter Valley in a couple of weeks with a largish group, so looking for a restaurant recommendation for 12-14 people. Preferably BYO if possible or any other ideas (maybe a winery that could cater for something like that). Many thanks in advance.

Baume, in the Ben Ean/Penfolds winery is a great spot. It's the opposite of nouveau cuisine, very much homestyle cooking, but we have always enjoyed the quality, and the portions are very generous. Great service - friendly without being overbearing. I'm a repeat visitor, and will actually be back there for Mother's Day.

Highly recommend Esca at Bimbadgen. Large group shouldn't be a problem, but may need to call them.
Thank you for the suggestion. We ended up at Esca on the second night. It was a self designed degustation dinner composed from their online menu. Wife is a social member of Bimbadgen wine club and that entitled to a 10% discount from the total. All in all worked out at about $145 per person with wines including Mount Pleasant OPOH and Rosehill and some of their Shiraz too that was surprisingly good.
