I have an upcoming trip to Taipei and recently took another look on Accor and noticed there's now another property besides the Novotel at TPE.

This is located in Taipei City fairly close to TSA (which is pretty much in the city centre anyway).

Seems this is an acquisition and rebranding of the current S Hotel and adds an actual Taipei option for anyone wanting to visit and stay with Accor.

Reading some of the existing reviews, most of the criticisms seem to stem from value and staffing quality which perhaps with Accor taking over might see it turn a new leaf.

Lots of positive reviews on some of the design spaces.

This is very exciting. We visit Taiwan every year and having a hotel option in Taipei city, rather than airport, would be very welcome. Particularly my favourite brand MGallery.

I have just stayed here (will get to it in my trip report soon). Currently the hotel is still in transition from S hotel to MGallery so many things are still S Hotel branded including the default GMaps location (although MGallery also shows up). Some of the taxi drivers would still remember it as S Hotel.

No real driveway for this so it's street side drop offs. Lobby itself is quite nice although at the time the restaurant hasn't transitioned over so no free breakfast or half price accor dining.

Room itself was well presented and Accor status acknowledged with Taiwan beer on the table but my goodness it has mirrors everywhere. It even has mirrors on all 4 walls of the toilet. Shower too has a full length door that's a mirror.

If you like looking at yourself this is the hotel for you. View wise out the windows, there's nothing too amazing but otherwise it's a solid hotel once it finishes the transition. Just have to like mirrors.

Location wise, its solid but not the most accessible. A 10 min walk to the closest station although the bus stop is right in front. Very close to TSA if you're flying into that airport. Close to Taipei Arena too if there's an event there. Otherwise just a fairly central location.

Did I mention mirrors? (yes I need to hammer it in that much). I think in one corner I could see myself reflected 8 to 10 times in front of me from the mirrors in all the angles. And before anyone asks, this is not a love hotel.
