Qantas have had an extra 747 based at Melbourne since OEI returned from maintenance in HKG. They are rotating the aircraft that isn't in use each day - today it is OJT. Normally this aircraft would be in SYD.
Could this be due to not enough space at SYD?
The past week there has been more QF widebodies on the ground as some of the daily flights were not scheduled I assume due to low demand.
For example, QF63 didn't operate Monday, QF73 didn't operate Thursday, QF117 didn't operate Mon-Wed, QF129 didn't operate Tuesday.
