QF lounge access at Tokyo Narita

Qantas Club has access to JL lounge at NRT and HND on QF flights.

I'm aware of the HND arrangements which are listed on the QF website. How long have the NRT arrangements been in place and is there any Qantas webpage that mentions it? I looked and couldn't find anything.

I suspect as MEL-NRT and BNE-NRT have not yet commenced, there's no access for Qantas Club members (as there are no Qantas flights). Once late November rolls around, the position should become clearer.

Hmm that refers specifically to QF marketed JL flights though? (not saying you're wrong, but there's no leg to stand on if you get a lounge agent who isn't aware of the agreement and there's nothing official posted online)

Lounge access

Eligible customers and their guests booked on a Qantas flight number on the codeshare routes can access the following lounges.

I would have thought this to mean any QF flight number whether its JL metal or QF metal.

Nup - that's for JL metal with a QF codeshare flight number (mostly Japanese domestic flights as the ACCC kiboshed an attempt by JL and QF to codeshare between Oz and Japan).

QF and JL codeshare between JP and AU via SIN. They used to codeshare on their direct AU-JP flights prior to the JAL bankruptcy in 2010

wonder if that explicitly rules out JL at Narita as an accessible lounge?

Each lounge sets their entry rules, not the airline, so no - the JL lounges are still in play.

In most cases the lounges just use oneworld rules, but there are some exceptions (particularly QR lounges)

Qantas would prefer you go to the Aspire lounge because the access fee would likely be cheaper than the JL lounge.

Tokyo Narita - Aspire Swissport Lounge (Partner)

As a fun fact, the NRT Aspire lounge is in the location of the old QF lounge.

We flew QF J from NRT to BNE on 26/11 and were directed to the Aspire lounge, didn't actually try to access the JAL lounge.
Aspire was very quiet as they were only allowing J pax to enter, food and drink was alright.

Might check it out in February, going through NRT instead of HND for once although depending on how the dice rolls I'll probably be WP before that flight so probably end up in JL first eventually.

Can confirm this is the lounge, seems quite nice. Pretty big and usual food/drink options as well as a bartender making whatever you want (was in evening, unsure if there is a time range on this)

Tokyo Narita - Aspire Swissport Lounge (Partner)

Hi I am booked QF79/80 Jan/Feb24. Economy (N). I am QClub & LTSilver. Following the link provided by RareAir (thankyou) it appears I have lounge access at Narita in Aspire (Swissport). Does everyone concur? If so is a booking required? Is it discretionary as to who is on reception? Are there any gotcha's?

We visited on the night of the first flights out of Narita - it was definitely J pax only as they were turning away others, but if it's now officially a partner lounge then QC should be fine.

Hi all,

I've recently booked QF79/80 MEL-NRT-MEL for early next year. Never been to Japan before so am unfamiliar with the airports. I'm aware QF used to operate a lounge at NRT but that it has permanently closed in recent times.

The Qantas website still lists the Qantas Business Lounge at NRT as the only lounge available there (even though it is permanently closed). On the manage booking section of the QF app, where lounge access is usually displayed, no lounge is shown on the NRT-MEL ticket, contrary to the MEL-NRT ticket that lists the J Lounge in MEL.

Does anyone have any intel on whether lounge access will be available on the ground in NRT? Perhaps QF is still sorting it out ahead of the official launch of the NRT route (currently QF79/80 are MEL-HND-MEL before swapping to NRT) - although that's likely to be wishful thinking.

In any case, I will report back once I take the trip.

Many thanks
Hi there
Currently at Narita airport waiting to board QF80 to Melbourne. We were told Qantas J class gets access to Aspire Lounge which is where I am now.
Very very basic, but it's away from crowds and has a bar. It's at S7 on level 2
Apparently this is a newly opened lounge

From the photos, definitely the location of the old Qantas Lounge.

Oneworld Business class PAX generally get access to Business lounges operated by other oneworld airlines, so the JL Lounge would also be an option (if open).
