Assuming you've also tried different USB ports?

Can the actual drive be removed from the case? If so could try it in another case.

Finally, it might just have died. If you have data on there that you absolutely must get off, then it usually can be done by specialists, but it isn't cheap.

Yes, am using another external hard drive with the same power cord and USB port. All fine.

Data isn't that important and mostly backed up. Just a pain.

How old is the drive? If not that old, potentially request a replacement for wherever you purchased it from.
