When will the process for upgrading tickets bought through the groups dept be sorted?

I frequently fly with my sports team, we book directly with Virgin but because it is over 9 people must go through the groups dept. Trying to upgrade from a Saver to a Flexi (and then to J), multiple operators on the Plat GCC advised they can allocate seats - but weren't allowed to do ticket upgrades/changes on anything booked through Groups anymore.

I understand with bookings through Travel Agents, but I expected a booking with Virgin to be a booking with Virgin.

Will this be allowed soon?

Hi quick dry,
At this stage we don't have a timeline for when any changes will/can be made to this process.
We do realise that it's somewhat restrictive for those with Velocity status, and the team are certainly looking into it.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
