Vinomofo Wine Deals

The review is for:

McGuigan Wines Personal Reserve Bainton Vineyard Hunter Valley Shiraz 2014

I had a look to see if this is on Good Wine Times (the friends & family site that covers McGuigan) and it only lists the 2017 vintage of this wine. Currently selling at $400/6. RRP is $600.

Has anyone tried it before? I like Hunter wines but have never had anything from them.
Yes, nothing special.

Oops, my bad. What made me think of tyrell’s is a secret deal from a few years back where I bought the Vat 8 for $29/bt - from cracka wines! Oh well…
I did buy it, but it is just an usual wine.

Can anyone recommend this. Ulithorne Singularis Grenache

Thanks
I don't know this wine, but the Ulithorne Singularis Shiraz 2016 I bought recently from TWC was in good condition and a decent maturing drink at around $35, the "RRP" is of course fanciful. Rose Kentish sold Ulithorne late 2016 or early 2017, so no idea of who made these wines.

CW wines bought Ulithorne in December 2020. So 2017 wines still made by Rose.

Hobbs of Barossa 1905 Shiraz 2021, Barossa

Being offered by brokers in 3 packs. $85 per bottle

The 1905 plantings of shiraz on the Hobbs estate in Flaxman Valley have delivered in the excellent 2021 vintage. It's a concentrated, intense wine, packed full of pitch-perfect macerated plum, blackberry and black cherry fruits. Hints of cedar, vanillin oak, fruitcake spice, sage, chocolate bullets and roasting meats too, but it is that plush fruit that is the star.

The tannins are granitic and fine, there is freshness within and the length of flavour is superb. An excellent release for the Hobbsys. It'll cellar like a champ too.
