The T&Cs of the pilot gold offer state "You can maintain Gold Status for a further 12 months ..." (emphasis added). This means that if you time it right, you could actually get 15 months of gold. However, I doubt that actually happens in practice and that you simply get the remainder of that 12 months as gold.

Does anyone have experience with that?

It is indeed a further 12 months. What has surprised me, though, is that I need to earn 400 status credits in the next 12 months rather than 400 less what I earned during the trial. In hindsight, I guess that makes sense.
