Jan 21 VA543 SYD-OOL cancelled due "operational requirements". Turns out they were short a flight attendant. No one on standby for sickies ?

Jan 21 /22nd Replacement flight VA545 SYD/OOL loses my checked baggage. Gold Coast unable to locate as yet; think it may be still in SYD. Phone call to SYD baggage services elicits the following.... You guessed it... "Due to operational requirements this phone number is not attended"

What ? Why not ? I am invited to send an email, not leave a message. Reckon VA is using that operational requirements comment a bit too freely; don't you ?

Jan 22, 0900. Still no suitcase. What about my "operational requirements" ?

The moderators may if appropriate be kind enough to transfer this post to the VA cancellations/ delays thread, as it is essentially about that. Interesting post.
