With the 'enhancement' of QF ADL-SIN, we must bid farewell to QF81/82.

This is therefore an ideal opportunity for a Flounge run as a send off (well the SYD-ADL leg anyway).

Mark it in your diaries:
Sat April 13 QF81 SYD-ADL 1210-1355
Sun April 14 QF82 ADL-SYD 0750-1015

I have booked my tickets and chosen my whY seats.

Would anyone care to join me?

The attendee list from post is now in the following spreadsheet for all to see.

Not sure I would bother with the 82 given no airside QP.

Farewell QF 81/82

On the flip side Red-e-deals are generally a few dollars cheaper on Qf82 and it is one if the rare widebody aircraft operating from ADL. Only real negative is SYD T1.

The ADL QP is airside. It is the only QF lounge at ADL and so it is before customs, though.

Besides, where's your spirit of adventure?

But that would mean waiting at a Gate before boarding, I am out of practice!

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

I am conflicted. Part of me likes the idea of a wake, and part of me hates the idea of giving more of my money to Qantas as a reward for cancelling QF 81, one of my favourite flights. (Was never such a great fan of QF 82).

And before anyone suggests it, I don't want to spend points because I am saving them for a special occasion next year. That's if QFi is still around then and hasn't become Jetstar or QEmirates.

Considering the flight leaves at 0750, I don't plan to be at the airport long enough for too much lounging. I think any drinks session the night before will see to that.

This is looking do-able for me. QF81 only. -$3 fare difference to change my Friday flight.

But that would mean waiting at a Gate before boarding, I am out of practice!

In practice you can clear emigration pretty quickly and only need about 5 or 10 minutes standing at the gate lounge. For me that's the perfect time to put on my eyes to identify the aircraft.

QF81 13/04 23K locked and loaded…

Not sure about the return yet, may have to fly back that afternoon/evening as I
doubt I will receive clearance from the minister of war and finance to miss the
family get together she has scheduled for the Sunday

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

I'll be in the SYD F lounge around this time, for a MEL-SYD-MEL JQ run.....

I'm doing SYD-ADL on QF81 the week prior, on Sat April 6th

JessicaTam we are yet to meet and yet I find your suggestion of a random flight strangely appealing - damn AFF!!

I shall look at flights when I'm off my CityRail train.

Only one problem...I'm no longer WP <hangs head in shame>

If there are enough takers I will start matching WPs with non-WPs to ensure we have the numbers for guesting. So far file51 and I are confirmed and we are both WP.

Re: Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat-Sun Apr 13-14]

Confirmed! QF81 24J (until T-80 anyway). I am a WP so can also guest in the SYD Flounge for others on this historic adventure.

Won't be doing QF82 I'm afraid. However, I am happy to shout drinks in the ADL QP for anyone else arriving on QF81. Yes, yes...I am too generous:rolleyes:

Great work JessicaTam. This will be my first AFF "meet". It's about time I stopped lurking and came out.
