Velocity Frequent Flyer, the award-winning loyalty program of Virgin Australia, has today announced it will become the first loyalty program in Australia to join forces with Australia Post.

The first stage of the partnership will see Velocity Frequent Flyer offer its members the ability to earn Points on everyday bill payments and other online transactions through Australia Post’s MyPost Digital Mailbox. Later this year, it is intended that members of the program will also be able to receive their monthly Velocity statements securely through the digital mailbox platform.

The MyPost Digital Mailbox has the weight of some of Australia's biggest brands and business behind it, including Telstra, AMP, Sydney Water, Brisbane City Council and many other businesses across Australia and has seen strong uptake since its public launch last year.

Just received a email offering 1000 points to sign up before 6July

appears the ongoing offer is 50 points for every bill paid over $50

Have signed up but there is no where to put your Velocity membership number. Also doesn't appear to be any promotion on the AusPost or Velocity websites through which you can link to via your velocity account. Have I missed something?

Such a promotion doesn't surprise me.

The take up of the 'digital mailbox' has been below expectations and they are really trying to get people register and use it.

They are even forcing those eligible for the cheaper concession (60¢) stamps to sign up before they can obtain said stamps.

Not surprising, given the limited number of providers listed, especially as far as WA's concerned!

Can't find where to add my Velocity number either.

Pretty sure the email provides a link to click thru, and a request to provide an email address for the digital account. If both your velocity and digital mail email addresses match, then auspost and velocity will presumably match them up.

A few family members received the email but all our family members use the same email address & Aust Post want individual email address per account .
Does anyone know a solution to this problem ?.

Yes, setup temporary hotmail or yahoo email addresses (I think you can even get these to forward mail).

But need to use the original email from velocity & click thru link , then on Aust post the email must match but after the first use you can't use the same email for other family members.
So I don't think it will work .
