I wanted to book a AMB weekend 2nd night free redemption at IC SYD. When I looked normally and not logged in as an amb, the best flexible rate suite I was interested in was $559 for the Saturday night (meaning the cheaper Sun night @ $459 would be free). When I logged in via the amb weekend night webpage and searched the same date and same suite it showed the Sat night @ $659 with the Sun night remaining at $459.

Is the AMB weekend free night based on the best flexible rate or is it normal that they bung on another $100?

Generally seems to be tied to BFRate but I reckon at times they are 'bunging' on extra. I need to use one by end of October but can't get a decent rate in SYD so looking afield but they are grossly inflated prices in Oz for them generally I find so I may need to 'unload' mine through some other method - I can't see if these are traceable or not; there is a code on the back. I am willing to pay a fair price for the room given the market conditions but it seems excessive at the moment...

Stayed here last week. Was busy at check in and didnt get served immediately but the staff were attentive and made plenty of effort to make us welcome.

The welcome gift was not in the room when we checked in, but we basically checked in and went out, returned about two hours later and waiting for us was a fruit platter of apple, grapes, pear, orange and other that i forget plus a bottle of Shiraz (listed on their menu at approx $50 a bottle).

Great attentive service and looking forward to the benefits during our upcoming stays in the US!
