I have an award booking on QF SYD-HKG in J in late August that I have had to move, and QF yield allowed me to move a bit, but my changed circumstances are likely to make a CX afternoon or night flight better for me, and perhaps a day earlier.

A quick search on the QF engine shows CX J availability almost everyday from now until 9 August. Is this likely to be the case for flights in late August as well? I'd also like to finally be on a flight that allows me to sample the QF F Lounge lunch/dinner menu! (all my flights have been QF Asia AM departures since becoming WP)

In particular, is it harder to get a flight on a Sunday? I notice availability showing for this coming Sunday (the 27th) but not the subsequent 2 Sundays. Are Sunday flights more popular and do the last minute releases happen closer than 2 weeks out?

Hi Isochronous

No one can give you a guarantee.

Weekends demand is usually higher.

My experience is that CX can release Award seats even 48 hours or less before departure date.

We changed our trip SYD-HKG-LHR last year, 36 hours before leaving.

All you can do is monitor availability and if you see a seat book it straight away.

I've always been able to snag multiply CX J seats at the last minute - been doing it for nearly a decade.

I've noticed that CX100 is getting harder to acquire. Best flight IMHO for Flounging.....

usually the first and last flights of the day have the most availability, think its likely the week you want will open up next week but try to avoid the weekend as others have said

I was having a similar problem ex adl until about an hour ago, CX just released a load of availability mid/late august, probably best to hop on and have a look asap!
