Hi guys. Just booked a business class Qantas redemption flying Cathay J SIN-HKG-AMS in August next year. Just wondering if anyone can recommend the best seats on CX716 (A330 regional) and CX271 (B777) and the best lounge in Hong Kong (we love our champagne). Either way, we are just excited to be flying business! Thanks in advance.

CX regional... most seats much of a muchness. I would avoid the first row or two at the front... too close to the galleys.

77W to AMS... depends on the configuration (whether the lane has F or not). If it has F I would probably go for the mini cabin behind F. it looks quiet. If there is no F, I would avoid the first couple of rows.

lounges in HKG... take your pick of any of the CX ones. They all serve champagne. The qantas lounge does not.

I found that they use the previous version of their J product (coffin styles) a lot for regional flights which I found quite good as long as you are not too big.

I would get as much time transiting in HKG as possible and visit all the CX lounges. The Bridge is my choice for J Lounge. If you can get into F Lounges then you should plan to visit them too.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Only a 2 hour stopover in Honkers, unfortunately, but I'll do my best!

SIN-HKG will be either new regional business (which I find rather uncomfortable) or new long haul....subject to last minute changes as always but this is a highly competitive route so pretty much a certainty you would get either new product

If you are oneworld emerald use the wing first lounge for the champagne bar

If 77W hopefully new J seat. Very comfortable.

CX substitute aircraft at the same rate some women buy shoes !!
