Hi All,

I am looking to book 3 J award saver seats for SYD-SIN-SYD.

I looked at a few random dates way ahead like 300 days ahead but I can't find any. Has anyone ever booked 3 award J saver seats before? Is it even possible?

Will be myself, wife and 4 year old daughter.

Thanks,
K.

Doubt you find more than 2 J saver awards available that far out, you will only find 2+ available when they open availability 3-4 days out from departure. You're best to try to redeem 2 J Savers & 1 J Standard awards or 2 J Savers & pay for the third.

Thanks. Or risk a wait list on one of them? Do wait list normally clear for non status pax?

You can waitlist, but do two waitlists one for outbound & one inbound. Otherwise one leg will clear the waitlist & the other flight won't clear in time before confirmation deadline so you lose the cleared flight & the waitlist lapses.

Ok thanks. Is it worth the risk to wait list if not I will just go Y X 3 lol. When do the wait lists normally clear if they do? A week out or a day out?

It is pretty random the way SQ clears waitlists, it can be months, weeks & days before the flight. My last waitlist cleared 11 days prior to flight, which was a few days after waitlisting. I'd just try the waitlist for a few weeks before you choose another option since your flight is so far out.

Thanks. Actually I want to book syd to kul return. If I wanted to have a stopover both ways in SIN how much extra do I need to pay and how do I make such a booking?

You can only do one free stopover when booking a return Saver redemption, you have to go Standard or Full award to get stopovers both ways. Just click on the "Multi-city itinerary" button just above the destination & click on award box when that page loads.

Thanks. I thought there was a way to pay extra $100 to do both ways. If I recall correctly from cruiser elite. But I may be wrong.

There was a thread suggesting that, but I believe it is not available online (so no online discount)

Ok thanks. Was hoping a helpful SQ agent over the phone may still allow 15% discount.

Also another query. I did a dummy booking for syd to kul return and I get availability no problems but if I do syd to sin return same dates I don't get availability. Why is this the case??

Yes I have done 3 j savers in the past MEL LHR. But they are rare. I usually do 2 x saver 1 x standard just check an F saver may cost you less points !
As for the availability on the web site showing available to KUL but not SIN...... Welcome to the world that is Singapore Airlines !!!!!

SQ seems to vary on this.

It used to be that 4 Js to Asia was easy, and 2 was the limit to Europe. So for Europe we used to book 2 Js on consecutive days.

Then they opened it up at about the time that they re-jigged the points table, and was easy to book 4 Js to Europe which I did on number of occasions for family holidays. To get my third daughter booked she had to be down separately.

They seem to have tightened up again.

Thanks. Definitely no F savers for 3 that I can see. Just need to figure out how to get 2 stopovers at sin for not much extra?? Or maybe forfeit a leg and book a separate flight??

Can you try to do open jaw? It may be less hassle than paying extra $100 USD plus extra fuel surcharges and taxes when you can buy a fare from KL to SIN for as little as $70usd on SQ (or less on Jetstar etc). Admittedly only in economy but flying time is only 30-50 mins.

I can do open jaw but the issue is there is no J x 3 availability if I did a straight syd-sin return instead of syd-kul return , transiting in sin. Can I just no show for the sin to kul leg ? Will it stuff up my return flights?

Not showing up for SIN-KUL would cancel rest. As you can't do open jaws online - calling them will still entitle you to the 15pc discount and stopover in one direction (maybe) and over the phone may (or may not) result in a different outcome - with SQ award booking engine you never know until you try!

Have you factored the $40 changi vouchers for 3 pax($120 each way) when making individual J redemption stopovers for your bookings.
I have had 3 J savers in the past, if not I have had 2 J saver and F saver. I usually book individual J savers with stopover in SIN for each leg.
More likely the waitlist will clear - although a bit difficult during Dec/Jan and/or school holidays.
