Did I get unlucky with the A330 regional J or is SQ product not up to same standard as VA?

Service as good enough but bed not v comfortable (not flat), no amenity packs, ok food, no sleep suit etc.

drinks menu was good but it was a 2345 flight so only had one before dinner

I used Velocity miles, switched to KF, to upgrade. Would've been disappointed had I paid for a J ticket

If it wasn't a flat bed then yes it was probably a regional A330.

Which route?

If it was an A330 it's definitely the regional product. You need to get one of the A380s or a 77W.

Lots of regional config's getting jetting between AUS-SIN these days which is a shame.

The A330 is fine for daytime flights but not ideal for overnight for sure.

As far as amenity kits, I don't think SQ have done these in J for a long time? Not in the past few years that I've flown J MEL-SIN anyway...

Am I confused, but isn't the J product on both the SQ and VA 330's a very similar product, or are we compared the SQ 330 with VA's 77W?

Maybe I'm causing confusion. I'm comparing the J product that Virgin use Bris to Abu Dhabi to what I just used which was SQ's A330 Regional J

By regional, do you mean what SQ refer to as medium haul business seats? Ive had these for day flights but I would have been disappointed if I got these for a night flight.
Did they change planes on you because the seat map would have been an indicator to the seat layout/type of seats.
