Hi all, I just received an email from Qantas. Recieve 40,000 points if I join Qantas Club before 17th Feb. If I were to join through AFF using the corporate rate would I still receive these bonus points? I have never been a member if that makes any difference.

Apologies for lack of acronyms here, still learning.....

I see an offer of 50,000 on the QF website though!
50,000... big ones.
Better than your measly 40,000!
Edit... ah, I see.
Silly old dog I am, refer a friend, 40,000 then becomes 50,000.

Okay, that leads me to my next question. If I take the offer and join I would be paying a total of $895 which is $225 more than if I joined through AFF. Is 40,000 points worth the $225??

Yes.

...........

Or get the St George Amplify Signature card - 60k points for just under $300...

Received the same deal via email from CommBank.. Would be tempted if I did not already have lounge access

As you've seen, we have begun one of the biggest Qantas Points giveaways ever offered for joining the Qantas Club. Frequent Flyer members who join before 19 February will be rewarded with 40,000 Qantas Points. Those who refer a friend, and they join, will be given an additional 10,000 Qantas Points while their referred friend will also receive an additional 10,000. The offer is available when signing up at Join Qantas Club and earn Qantas Points | Qantas. Thanks, Red Roo

Just to clarify, this offer is not exclusive to current Frequent Flyer members. Those who join the Qantas Club receive complimentary Frequent Flyer membership.

To the OP: If you assign a nominal value of 1cent per point, then 40000 points are worth $400. If you are definitely going to buy lounge membership anyway, then the extra $175 to get points with a nominal value of $400 seems to be a good bargain. If you were spending the $900 for Qantas club membership just to get the points, probably not a good deal.

QF's biggest lounge promo eva?

Am I allowed to make a comment about lounge crowding?

Whoops, I think I just did. I mentioned lounge crowding once, but I think I got away with it.

Anyone else currently looking at joining?
I want to join, so who else wants to earn 50,000 points with me? :P

Hi Everyone. I will be joining tonight if someone wants to send me a referral link. I also have a referral link to send to someone. Now, I am a bit confused. Not sure if I can do it both ways. But happy to do either one.
