Just picked up a cheap business class seat with AAX to come back to Sydney mid Feb 2016

There seemed to be a decent level of availability for the night flight.

I was surprised they now include 40KG of luggage so if you wanted to go crazy with the shopping you'd have plenty of baggae capacity :p

Great value at this price. The flights over seemed to be 599-699 AUD which is still pretty decent too.

1299MYR is very good value for a proper lay flat abeit angled seat.

Too bad I am a chicken and have chickened out from booking anything with Air Asia. Air Asia was the most frequent plane I was on in 2014, (8 from 26 flights), but now am avoiding them for a while. For example, next month I need to fly Kota Kinabulu to Bangkok, my options were Air Asia ~$100, Malaysia Airlines ~$200 and then Singapore Airlines was ~$300. After 2014, I ended up booking Singapore Airlines.

I think the Malaysians have had their 3 bad things happen recently, so I've no qualms about flying Air Asia. In fact, I'm flying KUL-SYD bus class later this month. Yes, very good value.

And, FWIW, I'm also flying MH later this month...

I didn't realise you flew anything other than F lol

I know the chances of anything bad is sooooooo miniscule but I think the emotion can be such a powerful tool and override any objectivity and statistic.

Some routes just don't offer F unfortunately ;)

The correct reply is - I wish I could fly F all the time ;)

I just flew MH in J on their 380 KUL-CDG - one of the best flights I've ever had.

No issue with flying them or Air Asia. I've flown Air Asia using their lie flat and it was very good - the great service up front was also a surprise - two dedicated FAs just to the front cabin of 18.

We flew Air Asia business from OOL-KUH last year and I thought it was great value. We loved it and for a family of 4 big savings compared to Qantas. The chicken satay was lovely!!!

Oh the chicken satay - I was asking for seconds (NEVER do that for airplane food!)

Has the food offering improved? The other half and I flew D7 in 2012 and the food offering was extremely basic, not that we were expecting anything fancy.
