We really enjoyed a 2 night stay here in a 1 bedroom apartment. We had our car and found no worries with the under cover parking. Check in was quick and friendly. We were on level 1 on the southern side of the building. The room is huge (approx 75 sq m), there is a big comfortable balcony and the room is very well equipped for a longer stay-big fridge/freezer, dishwasher, great air conditioning, clothes washer & drier and tv with some foxtel stations. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water & good pressure & there was a comfortable lounge & "dining" table. The apartments are a short walk to shops, restaurants and bars & we also walked out to the War Memorial

...a deal that included a case of wine with a Moet in it
:shock::)

That sounds quite reasonable.
I found this at Burbury Hotel. $186/night supposedly down from $600.

I am unfamiliar with Canberra but need to go down for an embassy function that will involve some wining and dining so thought I should stay the night and maybe have a look around next day.

We were there for drinks in the CBD so we were able to just walk around-very easy & quick. We found the traffic around the city very easy when we did drive-we went out to the south & also around Manuka. Seemed like a great city (had only been there for a couple of nights in the last 30 yrs) & the locals love it but I don't think I need to move back to a place with cold winters. Also city living is not for me.
