I just came across some cheap 'business' flights to Singapore on Scoot.

~$300 each way (looking at dates in November) on the 787.

Their business class is more like a premium economy although it might be helpful is someone needed a positioning flight to SIN to take advantage of an potential award.

This may be useful for me to get some of my relatives to SIN then an award trip. Not real business for sure but its still a very cheap price for premium economy!

Its strange theyre starting services mid way through what is basically a long weekend in Melb....

Thanks for the tip jordan. Could be useful. Are Scoot are a SQ offshoot?

What I have found an interesting observation is that the marketing from Scoot on this key route in MEL, has been relatively low key, in comparison to launching in SYD & OOL a few years ago.

Although, I guess it's still a few months off from the inaugural flight.

Also JQ have not had any 'bargain basement' sales to win over customers , now that they have a LCC competitor on the MEL > SIN route.

I wonder if, and when, things will heat up on this sector?

I noticed that too!

Although it has been $159 one way in the past.

Great for connecting onto flights ex- SIN.

Where are you too getting $159 from? I can only see $179 MEL-SIN on the Jetstar website early next year. I just tried doing some searching around cup weekend and the fares are high!

Your correct its $179 ex MEL to SIN.

( I've got it for $159 on club Jetstar in the past)
Still good value though.

It terms of Melbourne Cup weekend, no prizes for guessing that airlines know that this weekend is in hot demand and adjust prices accordingly.
