Quite possibly the most silly travel article I've read...
Airline seat selection: Why are seats unavailable when check-in just opened?

"WHEN I TRY TO DO AN ONLINE CHECK-IN FOR MY NEXT FLIGHT, WHY ARE SO MANY SEATS MARKED "UNAVAILABLE" EVEN WHEN I LOG ON AS SOON AS ONLINE CHECK-IN OPENS?
Airlines allocate seats in different ways. Many leading carriers give preference to their gold and platinum level frequent flyers and those with status credits. The most desirable seats might already be reserved for them, and they will often be able to choose a seat when they make their booking."

It's Traveller.com.au, it's aimed at, uh, a slightly different audience from AFF and AusBT...

Thank goodness I opened this thread!

From reading the title, my immediate thought was poor old jackthomas must have bumped his head!

Really shouldn't have posted the link.
Every click makes them money to write more drivel.

I don't see how posting the link, and them getting more hits is wrong. It's like comedy to us, not actually hurting anybody.
If you know you won't like it, don't read it :)
