VA Plat Hilton Offer

Hi All

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, couldn't seem to find an answer.

I was VA Plat, and took up the offer to receive Hilton Diamond Status, which ends in January. I haven't stayed enough to retain that level of status.

I didn't retain VA Plat status either, and have spent the last 10 months as Gold. After some recent travel I've just regained Plat status, so I'm wondering if I can take up the Hilton offer again?

Interested in others' experiences.

No you can't take up the HH Diamond offer again. That's based on myself attaining VA Gold, getting HH Gold. Then both dropping. When I re-attained VA Gold I couldn't get HH Gold again.

The documentation they send out is at best ambiguous on this, but after a few calls and emails, they confirmed this.

I took up the Hilton offer when I was VA gold and when that expired (didn't stay enough to retain status), I couldn't opt in again. However, I recently attained platinum and the offer to opt in for the equivalent offer with Hilton is now available to me.

I have see sawed between gold and platinum for the past 4 years, each time I got back to platinum, I could prequalify, so to speak for diamond.

good news, thanks guys. I assume it will be best to wait until my current diamond status runs up in Jan before opting in to the offer again.

Your current Diamond status will last until 31 March 2016 and will drop to Gold on 1 April.

Ah yes you're right. I think I had Jan in my mind as I'm staying at the Hilton KL in Jan and so focused on still being diamond at the time!

Does Hilton have soft drop for status? I thought your new status was the one you qualified for during the previous year.

You are correct JohnK. My bad! No soft drop. New status will be as per qualification.
