So like a lot of others members of this group; I fly way to much!!!
sometimes with my Monday morning 4am alarms and trips to the airport or endless nights in hotels; can bring me to the point of asking myself "is it really worth it"??
But luckily the answer to that question is clear on days like today
for the last 12 months I have the position where I live in Melbourne but manage the QLD, NT and WA territory, which of course means that i get to spend a lot of time sitting on planes and building airmiles.
so much so, i have actually accrued 536,000 points in the last 12 months alone.
This lead me to start looking at what i could do with all my points.
I could buy around 10 pairs of Bose Headphones (use them like disposables and use a new one every month), I could cash them in for a few 1000 $$ worth of vouchers or i could do something that I am not going to get many other chances to do....
I cashed in 500,000 points in for 2x return tickets to Ireland for myself and my soon to be wife for our wedding in July
Now I'm not a poor man by a long way, and my partner makes decent coin as well. but the we are also nowhere near rich enough to have a spare 20K sitting around for 2x return Business class trip to Europe.
Now put yourself in my posiiton of Getting to tell that special woman in your life, that not only are we getting to have our wedding back in the "motherland" with all our friends and family , but we will be getting there in the comfort of Business class the hole way their and the hole way back again.......
I actually am struggaling to put my finger on what was the best benefit of the Points?
Getting the Business seats? or breaking the News that all though nights/trips away had a positive outcome
lets keep the joy going
whats your best points reward?????
