Hey all - flying out of Auckland on Cathay flight in business - have OW sapphire. Can I guest into the Air NZ lounge, seeing as this is Cathay's designated lounge, it should operate as per any other partner lounge? Anyone had any experiences?

Cheers

That's a bit of a 'stumper'! No experience and it is an unusual one.

According to CX website business pax cannot take a guest into the lounge, but as you are OWS then you should be able to, but perhaps only in OW lounges?

I've only flown CX out of AKL once (about 5 years ago) and QF was (logically) the designated lounge then. Perhaps because NZ have a recently renovated lounge and QF's are desperately in need of same, is the reason CX have switched?

Hopefully someone else with experience can assist, but if not, I guess you'll have to try it out and see (and let us know). I guess two of you in the old QF lounge is better than one of you in the new NZ lounge?

I have no personal experience - but it is fairly clear cut.

- OW Sapphire can take 1 guest.
- The Air New Zealand lounge is Cathays designated lounge.

Therefore you can take a guest.

If they give an invitation at checkin just make sure you get two.

My guess is no guest in the the NZ lounge, But you would be able to guest into the QF lounge.

No experience of the NZ lounge, sorry, but definitely seen / taken guests into the QF lounge. It's not the greatest but comfortable, ok food, good drinks, and quieter than the bulk of the terminal.

Great - thanks all. Danger, I'll post to the relevant thread. And i'll feedback what I find over the weekend.

hey guys, no dramas. Check in gives you an entry with 1 guest. Easy. IF they don't, just ask them to add the guest.

Cheers
