Just got this email. VFF are after more customer data.

We have a few tricks up our sleeve but we need to know more about you first. Share your birthday and you may receive a little something from Virgin Australia.
We noticed you haven’t updated your V-mail profile or preferences just yet (let’s blame the Christmas season). The choice is yours but we need your help!

I clicked the link to provide my birthday, but there's no field regarding birthday/date-of-birth!

Perhaps they want to offer you 10% off toasters at the Velocity Rewards store as a birthday "present"?

Sounds like a scam. Don't you give them the DoB when signing up for velocity?

Don't think this was from Velocity - was for 'v-mail' (sales, promo email marketing). You're not expecting them to connect their separate IT systems in a comprehensive way are you? :P

Saw this too. What's the "secret"?

Of course not. That fact you have to create an entirely separate login just to manage your marketing preferences is ridiculous. Just attach it to VFF!

The email got to me too.
Probably not so much as a scam but a less than perfect marketing campaign.
(Sekected fares are on sale across Australia) it also says.
Gouge more $ from us VFF members more do.
Maybe hover the mouse over senders address will say who it's from, am on iPod so can't do it.

If you directly to the VA website, find the link for Vmail and click to update prefs, you get the same error...

Website is now "undergoing maintenance".

Looks like someone didn't check things before sending out an EDM - well played.

I got the email and couldn't get in, but figured it was because I was doing it on my phone. For a second I was worried I got scammed and thought "I need to check AFF" asi couldn't have been the only one who got the email.

Yep, that's where my money lies.

Seriously – your marketing team must be decently sized. You can't get this right?
