Hi all,

Just checking if bookings made with a virgin gift card count for status, eligible sectors and points? Have $300 worth of vouchers but want to check that the above count before using them for flights. I assume they would? It's still money right?

Cheers,

David

Certainly should do. It's just an alternate way of paying for a published fare, just like QF (where some people buy the vouchers to avoid the CC fee, in bulk, and use them throughout the year).

The only time I bought a VA voucher we received the correct points/SCs

Thank you. Fingers crossed it does work fine. These flights will get me across the line for gold with the eligible sectors and status. So a big deal if I don't get them.

You won't have an issue. I book all my flights using gift vouchers and get the right amount of SCs and points.

Thanks mate. Think I will start doing it with gift cards as well if it works fine. 5% off with the entertainment card. Then using one of the coupons here on the booking adds up to around a 10% saving. Not bad.
