3 class...is that F/J/Y or J/W/Y?

Great news..The 777 in all classes feels much more roomy, J suites are wider than the 330 and the bulk head seats in W and Y are excellent

I like the early morning departure time HKG-SYD but dread overnight flight SYD-HKG.

Was it capacity constraint on the existing overnight which triggered this?

Yep. I think CX capacity is limited by the number of flights per week (70 I believe) so this can be controlled somewhat by bringing the 77G.

My Wife and I have a trip to SEA booked for Jan
One part of the trip was to try F on at least two airlines
First problem was QF cancelled F on SYD-HKG, well at least we'll both be sitting in F Seats and were able to keep out SYD F lounge Access.
Second problem, booked CX614 777 F BKK-HKG. Today received notice that the flight had been changed to an A330, a good product, but no F
Luckily there was an EK A380 leaving about the same time so rang QFF and they changed our flight with no change fees.
I wonder if the change is to free up a 777 for SYD-HKG as has been announced
If so there are F seats on that 777.

The SYD-HKG 77W will be based on the 77G config, which has no F.

Intra-Asia equipment swaps are really common for CX unfortunately.

Not necessarily, CX do chop and change aircraft.
CX have two types of the 77W, one with F and one without F.

The J seat on the CX 77W is the same seat that BA use with fancier trim for F!!!

Just thought I would resurrect this thread rather than start a new one. I just noticed via EF that the B777 for CX 100 has been subbed three months out for an A330 (in early June). I was rather looking forward to a first B777 fight with CX, and will get it on two later flights on my June trip. I just wondered if many other regular CX users have found the B777 CX flights from SYD being subbed out, or am I just unlucky with a maintenance cycle or somesuch?

I'm not a regular user but I was on CX101 a few days ago and can confirm that it was a 777 for that flight...

Not all bad - the A330 is a better ride in business. Rows 17, 18 are great - quiet and private.

I am not unhappy really, as I have done CX J on the A330 and it was great, and I will have the B777 for HKG-MAN, and CDG-HKG.

I checked the flights today and it seems they have subbed out the B777 from CX100 for a month, and it returns early July. Guess they need it elsewhere.

I will be on CX101 in mid April. Will let you know whether it is a B777. However I prefer to fly earlier if I can rather than hanging around in the airport.

I am doing CX138 and CX251 next month, 3 class and 4 class 777's
Have taken 11k for both flights as I think will be very private
