Learnt from mistake of last time 11K in the 3 class 777 (too close to service) although on the 4 class it was excellent.

Have booked 16k for both legs this trip SYD-HKG and HKG-AMS. Was lucky to get it on second leg as was almost full and was in 21K, but daily checking on MMB saw 16K shake lose 3 weeks out

Only thing I don't get is the old rattle carts doing service at 1am in the morning when virtually everyone will have eaten in the lounge and just want to sleep!!!

For pax lucky enough to have access to the Fcl lounge that may be a fair point. But the business class lounge food is sorely disappointing. Virtually nothing 'fresh' - all greasy stir fries, pasta dishes or dumplings. The desserts aren't anything either. The light supper snack CX J provides is sort of an ok alternative.

With the exception of the 4-class, anything mid cabin is generally better on CX J. On the A330 you can go right to the back of the forward cabin because the galley isn't used.

I have been caught once over a 330 that was subbed by a 777, when I had selected row 14 that doesn't exist on the 777. So tend to go for rows 15 or 16 so that the seat selection will stick if aircraft changed.
