Lounge Passes for Guests

Hi, we will be a party of four travelling BNE to CNS. One has gold status so can guest me into the lounge. If I use points from my Velocity account to buy 2 lounge passes can I give these to the other two pax, or will these passes only be available for my own use.

Cant answer your question but have you checked out the Lounge Meetup thread for your dates and see if someone is willing to guest your travelling partners in?

I've used a lounge pass to guest a friend before I was SG, so I expect it would be fine.

Just my opinion, but 10k points per lounge pass is not the best way to spend your points, much better using cash if it's important to access the lounge.

It'd be even better using the 10k points on an upgrademe points redemption which would get you a J fare with lounge access (+ the base fare SC's & points), although the sector would have to be under 600 miles.

If you're silver status you could buy an annual pass (which would also entitle you to 1 guest) for 20k points (the amount you were going to spend anyway) + $150.

Just some ideas!

Not great value but should work. I enter the Virgin lounges with my wife on my Etihad gold card. The other day I also guested in 2 friends using 2 lounge passes I had on my account from my credit card. No issue and all on VFF red accounts.

Thanks, and yes probably not great value. I have now realised that the pax that has gold status also has two lounge passes still showing as available on his account. These were acquired when silver but never used. I assumed that if you didn't use them you would loose them however they still appear with a Septmber expiry date. I am hopeful that he may be able to use these to guest in the other two pax.

Indeed, the unused lounge passes can be used to add to your guest allowance.
