I just reached platinum but its confused me a bit. Prior to platinum, on the my account page it would show many status credits you had earned to maintain gold. Now that's gone and it's been replaced with maintaining platinum. Does this mean that anything that I've earned in order to reach platinum won't contribute to maintaining gold? Or does the soft-landing policy ignore the requirements for meeting gold and automatically downgrades me to gold if i don't reach the credits/segments?

I think I understand your query correctly.

Maintaining Gold is now irrelevant as you have reached Platinum. Now you will have a new review date ( the date you reached Plat status) and must get 800 SC within 12 months from this date to maintain Platinum ( assuming also you meet eligible sectors of 8 ). If you don't maintain Plat you will automatically drop back to Gold at the review date.
